Who we are

At Extremis Technology we put displaced people around the world at the heart of everything we do. Since our company was established, our team of engineers and entrepreneurs has worked tirelessly, developing a range of revolutionary new shelters that are designed specifically for disaster relief.

We have talked extensively with NGOs and charities about their true needs, giving us invaluable understanding of the factors that really impact on quality of life for refugees and displaced people.

Using this insight we continue to evolve our product. Evaluating alternative materials and looking at ways to increase the utility of our shelters, we’re making it our business to deliver a solution that is genuinely fit for purpose.

What we do

Our aim is to provide a range of solutions for the most important shelter needs of people affected by earthquake, hurricanes, floods or war. We do not focus on immediate needs in the aftermath of a natural disaster – our solutions provide relief in the transitional period, between the tents supplied as part of the emergency response and permanent resettlement.

Water, sanitation, education, health services – all of these are made easier and more possible with safe, secure and robust shelter, built around the family unit. This is what our Hush shelters can provide.

Hush shelters are supplied folded flat and can be erected, in almost a pop-up fashion, without the need for tools, additional parts or skilled labour. There is no need for sophisticated foundations and they can be put up in minutes, rather than hours or days.

  • Vision

Our vision is to assist displaced people throughout the world to regain dignity and health. This is achieved through the provision of robust, portable shelters and other technologies that have been designed to withstand extremes of nature. We aim to provide long term solutions prior to permanent settlement.

  • Management

The Extremis management team brings together a complementary set of skills and a broad range of experience. This equips the company with valuable expertise to operate a world-class engineering facility as part of an innovative global business, with an ethical purpose at its heart.

  • Investment

We have successfully completed three rounds of funding, raising £650,000 of angel investment to successfully deploy our first shelters into the Dominican Republic. Now we’re raising a further round to ramp up to full commercialisation and to deliver our first in-field project.
